Recommended Format type and Size for Bluetooth marketing


Media Types
iBlue proximity solutions deliver content to mobile phones which is viewed using the existing handset operating system.

Currently, the following types of media are supported:

  • Java
  • WML Dek
  • vCard/vCal event
  • Still Image
  • Animated Image
  • MIDI File
  • Sound Sample
  • Video Clip
Please note that the ability to play back any of the above content types is dependent on the handset itself- so, for example, you may find a handset can play back and animation but is not capable of playing back digital video. As always, it is worth considering the target audience and the type of handsets they have prior to content development’

Java
Build your Java mobile application, using the Mobile Brochure Builder MBB, It can develops maps, mobile guides and mobile lists recommended size is not more than 300 k

Basic Content
WML pages, vCard entries and vCaI events should simply be delivered as digital files in the relevant format.

Still Image (Static images)
Recommended size is 176x176 pixels.
File format .GIF or .JPG
File size should not exceed 25k
 
Animated Image
Recommended size is 176x176 or 176x144 pixels
File format .GIF
File size should not exceed 75k

MIDI File
Must conform to General Midi standard and require no more than 8 note polyphony (low end] or 16 note polyphony [high end].
File format .MID
File size should not exceed 50k

Sound Sample
Please note that audio is delivered as a Mono sample. File length should be no longer than 4 minutes.

Video Clip
Recommended format is .3GP file wrapper.
size not more than 300k
